Description and Responsibilities

The product analyst for propulsion systems structures virtual validation acts in the support and technical direction to obtain optimized engineering solutions, through the execution of numerical simulations and the application of her knowledge and experience, with regard to structural integrity. Components and sub-systems of internal combustion engine, transmission, driveline, engine systems, battery and electric motors are in scope. Main interaction in the daily work is with the program lead, product design and testing teams, working from the early stages of product development up to support on diagnosis/solution of eventual issues in final product. The daily communication is done in english, as the team is international and works supporting projects for various/different countries. Among the responsibilities of the function, the following stand out:

• Perform analysis and CAE reports focused on structural integrity assessment, in product development scope, working together with the team involved to generate / direct optimized solutions.

• Directly work on development/evolution of CAE methodologies for structural integrity assessment, both as analysis executor an technical reference for the involved disciplines.

• Drive technical discussions on the scope of the work performed in meetings/discussions with involved work team, providing support/guidance on eventual doubts and clearly communication of outcomes and implications of the analysis results.

The biggest challenges involve:

• Capacity and attitude to make difficult decisions when necessary, being it for the sake of the product or of the team/colleagues.

• Good time and workload management, in order to guarantee that deliveries are done in quality and in time, in a regular basis.

• Need for constant alignment and integration during the work developed, with entities from different/diverse areas, seeking a broader approach at final product level.

• Need for constant evolution and technical refinement of the applied calculation methodologies, always seeking the best compromise between precision, required resources (time, software, hardware, etc.) and scope of the analysis."
